you name it and everyone had a hand in it.

Natalie was so excited to have the room about
ready to go she had to try it out on something,
so she put the horse down to bed!!!!

Not too many pics this trip, we were too busy! we hunted 14 hunters in 7 days and killed 14 pretty nice bulls, this one is about a 355 class bull...... O and I can't forget my Logging skills this year left a little to be desired>>>>>>>>> dropped it right in the middle of Chris's truck, but it needed a little attention anyway :-)

So, I am into this Ranch roping, and my horse is pretty patient with me but he doesn't know as much as I want him to. I figure the only way he will learn is to do it enough and he will learn, so thursday I went to the auction and bought me a couple of 300lb calves, and tore into roping and tracking and cutting with my trusty steed....... he's a quick learner as long as I have my spurs on.

well, just having a couple calves and a horse that knew what he was doing wasn't good enough. I found me some 1/4" cold roll and tried to build me a Branaman honda...... she looks good but swings like a brick. well I am not too handy at braiding but figured I could fassion one out of rawhide......... here they are in all thier glory, a paperweight and one that is still drying so I cant tell you how it works........................................ Guess we will find out!

Good old Curt Pinder let us talk him into using the horses and ropes to do his calves this year, we were all pretty much rookies at it but we got em done. We tried a little of everything, head and heels, we tried the Nordfork, Hell we tried everything and boy did we have fun. Tender and Kash sure look good with a rope between them, and that sexy blonde Natalie on Kash is sure handy with that 60 footer.

So there we all were. Shane, Craig, Natalie, Jeremy, Curt and Me. Shane and Craig did it MAN style, and Ill prove it with this Video, Watch with caution!!!! It is pg-13 for sure. Man we had a good time!!!!

So, tuesday morning Chester called and said he was Branding in the morning and asked if a few of us wanted to come help. Well hell yes we did, I had to work the night before so I went in at 6pm and snuck out early at 3 the next morning. I went home saddled my mount and headed for Idaho. I met Shane, Tweety, and Chris where we all piled in the same pickup and headed for Chesters just outside of Twin falls ID. we drove a two track for an hour or so, unloaded the horses and trotted out the 3 miles to start gathering. when we had 300 head or so we started them for the trucks. I got a few pictures of the gathering but when we got the riatas out I forgot about pictures and started in with the rest of the crew. Good thing shane was there, I stole a few pics from him so you all could see the action.

Gip and I figured it would be good for the ponies to haul us to check a small trapline we had a few new sets we were testing out....... Now just a word of advice, pay attention and be ready so if a rooster pheasant flies up under your horse you dont end up on your back lookin up at your mount!!!......... Just sayin'

So here they are, I finaly finished them. I have been working on these babies for ever!! So here is the story, I lost the first pair of chinks I built in nevada last year. and figured I would build me a new pair. I started on them thinking I could finish them before the hunting season, well in the process of getting gear ready to go hunt I found my old pair and decited to take my time on these so I could have a goin' to town pair. well here they are in all their glory and they turned out so dang good I dont dare wear them.

So as most of you know I Guide in Nevada, and I just got back from the archery elk hunt out there and man was it good....... A little hot for late September but the elk were still starting to get rutty. So here are some pics..... Camp as you ride in....... Cook tent, Cooks tent, 3-4 Guest/ Hunter tents, Guide tent and enough poles lashed together to keep up to 60 head of horses corralled.

The camp pet, John and Donny (the Cooks) keep her fat through the fall.

The night before the hunt......... out watching at least 200 head of elk and getting a game plan for morning.

Now remember all these pics are through a spotting scope and its not quality of the picture but of the hunt!!

Trying to get a little water out of this hole on a hot day takes at least 15 minutes for a bull and he was having a hard time keeping an eye on the few cows he had gathered.

AH Yes...... Good old Tender getting a bite to eat while I shaded up, What a good lookin' mount!

The first kill of the hunt, Bill put the hurt on him and we were able to find him the next morning......... I promised Bill I wouldn't tell where he hit him but it was a big relief when we found this bull.

O Gundy (hunters name)......... What a shot he didn't go 100 yards, Now the work begins!

This is Kelly's Bull and what a dandy!!! and with a long bow to boot.............. almost the last day and was this bull mad, he was going to run us right over!

Well it was a good week of rut hunting elk, too bad its over!! Now we move to deer hunting all through October, then on to late elk the 2nd week of November........... Until then.

I Caught a tripple on a couple of fox setts, the only problem was that they were raccoons..... if you look close you can see 2 in the pic. above and all 3 in the pic below....... AWESOME

I made these when I was 18 and they have been awesome!!!! I would do a lot of things different now but you know what they way....... if it aint broke don't fix it.......

I just finished these saddle bags and horn bags the other day.... I tried them on a young horse and he bucked me off..... so I tried them on another horse that is a little more broke and they worked like a champ!!!!! I can carry all my survival gear and a first aid kit... plus my lunch and binoculars and something to drink!!!!!!! and they just snap off and on so I dont have to untie them every time I need to take them off my saddle.................

I started on the antlers with an old horse shoe and ended up with a 3x4 Muley rack!!! I could not believe they turned out!!!! Then just some old barbed wire and a worn out 00 shoe and a little heat bluing on the frame its self and there you are :-]

This is my latest pride and joy!!!! I started with 1x5 inch piece of a2 steel and forged it to shape and then bround in the blade. The handle is injected Burl maple...... the sheath is ok but I was in a hurry to try it out so i could have spent more time on it!!!

This one is a looker only, I dont dare use it it turned out so good.... handle is diamondwood..............

I have started to build a Boat trailor for our (my brothers and I) 14 foot flat bottom duck and goose killing Boat......... I found an Axle at the scrap yard for 7.00$ and have been using scrap iron to build it.... its pretty red-neck but heck we all have a little of that in us!!!!!! I think total I will be into the whole trailor 50.00$ You just can't beat that with a stick!!!!

Awesome week of prairie dog killing!! we had 6 hunters from New York. It rained us out the first day and there were a lot of "Nickle" card games played and lots of John's good cooking. the second day we got some good shooting in once we got through the mud. we killed a lot of dogs and the average hunter probably shot 500 rounds..........

the rest of the week was good shooting and lots of pest control was done!!!!
